So we're ranking based on affordability &  diversity of their menu, timing & accessibility during the week, and impressive X factors that might include specialties, happenings, interior design, quality, or other elements central to an establishment's individualism. We truly hope these spots can retain these qualities. And we understand if rising inflation or a worser bring about the surprise removal of favorite qualities in favor of increasing the bottom line or turnover. But in that same spirit you might find those qualities removed from this list and others alike as I update them :) For the people of New York!

Park Slope

[Copy to-be-changed by launch or by /blondie] If you order a whole pie at Luigi’s in Park Slope, you’ll notice it’s completely lopsided. Truly couldn’t be a perfect circle if it tried. But that's just because they focus their attention on what really matters. Like the amount of sauce, which is generous, but never overkill, or the dough, which is cracker thin with a pleasantly saltiness, or the cheese, which gets singed all over before they pull it from the oven. Inside, it’s a real family affair. The original Luigi, who opened the shop in 1973, is no longer with us, but his grandson Gio is behind the counter making pizzas, and Gio’s kid (named Luigi, obviously) is too. They've recently expanded, with more tables where you can inhale a few slices and a $1 soda.

For your next double date, head to this charming Lebanese spot on 5th Avenue where the chefs are sure to be rolling out pita rounds by the front door. They’ve got a big backyard with string lights, and a wine list that highlights producers from Lebanon and Morocco. Get some garlicky hummus, the fried octopus tentacle with pearl couscous and the whole roasted dorade with a tomato pepper stew that’s great for a group.
